Cosmos, Memory, Scale introduces the world of British artist and architect Karl Singporewala where the vastness of the universe meets the intimacy of family memory. Drawing on his Parsi heritage, parenthood and architectural practice, Singporewala explores how tradition can be constructed, how memory inhabits space and how material carries continuity.

The exhibition’s title unites three themes. Cosmos reflects his fascination with astrophysics and metaphysical alignments. Geometric and star-like forms suggest both spiritual navigation and mathematical order, as in Follow me, follow me, whose multifaceted structure evokes celestial bodies. Memory is treated as fluid and shifting, shaped by oral tradition and inherited ritual. The recurring ses, a sacred household object, appears across scales, transformed from domestic altar to monument and reclaimed as an object of play and continuity. Scale functions literally and metaphorically, showing architectural precision while also serving as a narrative device. In The Last Tower of Silence, a Zoroastrian funerary site is reimagined as a vertical tower, at once a memorial and a symbol of rebirth.

Placed in dialogue with manuscripts, maps and artefacts from institutional and private collections, including the artist’s family home, Singporewala’s artworks meditate on how material and memory intersect to shape the human experience.
